Research Group of Thermal Energy Engineering

The group aims to contribute on future society by development of innovative thermal energy technologies. Efficient technologies for thermal energy conversion, storage and transportation are discussed for utilization of primary energy resources, bio-mass and waste heats. Heat pumps, fuel cells and fuel resource conversions are main subjects for energy conversion in the group. Sensible, latent and chemical heat storages are main methodologies for efficient energy storage. Researches on heat transportation in the group covers with not only energy delivery, but also comfortableness technologies for residence, vehicles and industrial spaces, and efficient energy networks for residences, offices, buildings and regions. Proposal for comprehensive thermal energy technology visions for urban, agricultural, forestry, fishery, national and global areas are discussed in this group. Development of innovative materials and technologies for thermal energy is studied basing on chemical engineering knowledge.

“HONEBURO no Energy Road Map” [1]has been published from the Division of Energy, SCEJ, with a cooperation of the group. “The Charter of HONEBUTO ” and ”The HONEBUTO Dream Town” were proposed in the publication. The group is seeking to develop innovative thermal energy technologies based on the results from the publication [2].
